CANADIAN RAILWAY OPERATORS RELY ON KAMLOOPS AUGERING AND BORING LTD.
Canadian Pacific Railway, uses trenchless construction to complete sensitive railway crossings without causing service delays or track closures.
Kamloops Augering and Boring Ltd. finished dual 25 m installations of 2,133 mm (84″) diameter culverts underneath an active railroad that sees as many as 56 trains in a 24 hour period. These installations were completed using a Taurus Pneumatic Hammer and a 2,438 mm (96″) auger boring machine. Permalok pipe was used to reduce the amount of welding and to reduce the construction schedule. Total project time was only 17 days and there was no impact to rail activity. Another example of how trenchless construction reduces the impact on both operating environments.
