MANAGEMENT TEAM

As Chief Financial Officer, Spencer is responsible for implementing and maintaining best practice business processes across all Crossing Group divisions. He works closely with our team members and partners to understand their challenges and provide process-driven solutions that drive profitable growth.

Spencer plays a leading role in guiding the change management process, as we acquire and integrate new operations within the Crossing Group. He does the detailed legwork required to analyze and assess the financials, and then recommend the best way to structure the acquisition. As we’ve grown, he has been largely responsible for implementing processes and systems created to ensure consistency across the divisions, and to drive accountability and performance.

Always eager to share his knowledge, Spencer is the person our divisions turn to for advice and strategies on improving their own internal accounting processes: from basic accounting best practices to understanding complicated tax rules.

He served as staff accountant at an Edmonton-based Chartered Accountants firm, prior to joining The Crossing Group as its controller in 2013. Spencer assumed his current position in 2017. In addition to his CA designation, Spencer has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, his Master of Professional Accounting from University of Saskatchewan, and has completed the CPA Canada In Depth Tax course.
