Indigenous Engagement

The Crossing Group recognizes the cultural, historical, and territorial significance that connects Indigenous peoples to lands on which we operate.

NON-DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES

We are committed to establishing relationships and collaborating with Indigenous communities across North America, ensuring we complete our work in a manner that respects their past, present, and future.

To strengthen these relationships, we’ve implemented policies and mandates in accordance with the Truth and Reconciliation Committee’s Calls to Action, including:

  • conducting meaningful consultation with Indigenous experts and community members in the creation of our policies and the execution of our projects.
  • providing Indigenous peoples with equal access to jobs and training within our organization.
  • including our staff in Indigenous engagement opportunities, including through education and training, to ensure our commitments are reflected across the entire organization.

“Our commitment to North America’s lands and communities starts with our Indigenous owners, and extends to the Joint Ventures and Mutual Benefit Agreements we have developed over the years. We take immense pride in developing the careers of the people who work in our organizations, and appreciate that we are all visitors to Mother Earth and thank the Creator for this blessing. Our daily goal is to leave our surroundings better than we found them, reducing our impact on the earth.”

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The Crossing Group’s North American Headquarters is located on the traditional territories of the Indigenous peoples of the Treaty 6 region, including the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, and Nakota Sioux. This region is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Regions 2, 3 and 4.

We respectfully acknowledge the peoples who have lived on this land for generations. Their cultures, languages, and histories have shaped — and continue to shape — this region our organization calls home.

We also wish to recognize the traditional lands of Indigenous peoples and nations across North America, throughout which our team members work and live.
